Sueh Li is a graphic and type designer. She started her journey in type design at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague in 2009. After completing her Master in Type and Media, she explored Europe for a bit and worked as a graphic designer before returning to Malaysia.
With an interest of finding Malaysia’s own unique identity in typography and type design, she continuously explores adopting local context in some of her work. Her work covers a broad range, which include custom type for branding projects, experimental type for art institution, and non-latin type such as Arabic script.
She is also the co-founder of Typokaki, a collective that explores type design and typography that are inspired by Malaysian culture through workshops, talks, events and research.
Sueh Li will be judging BEST TYPOGRAPHY under CRAFT.
